Best fun you can have Standing Up and being wet

After getting the important stuff out of the way we all motored slowly out of Yandina eager to start eating up the first of 240 klm After cutting thru Rockella like a hot knife all accept Darren Who’s KTM had decided it would not run right we pulled up at the check point and planned to pull out the spare new 300 Ktm Bill was having none of it, soon discovered Darren had left the choke on this would be remembered for the rest of the trip Darren would be reminded at every opportunity..  We settled into some primo trails in Kenilworth, after the days of rain we experienced nirvana NO dust and total traction. We soon arrived at the first knarly hill water eroded and  challenge to the more inexperienced riders, I choked half way up which soon put me in my place.

We soon were Blasting along the trails I was having a hoot when while managing a corner (did is say manage - maybe Stuff up would be better)  my arm clipped a small tree bringing me down, with the obligatory chicken breaths i crawled around on the ground trying to get my breath back, Darren soon arrived, put a bandage on my arm and told me go down the hill LEFT RIGHT LEFT follow the road to the truck. - easy i thought  So i did a left right left and arrived a sign saying such and such a station - oops i must have stuffed up i rode out for a few K’s then worked out i definitely  stuffed up headed back again and asked some locals - I should have gone past that sign BUGGER,

Everyone was there waiting for me, with Darren out looking for me i felt 2 inches high.

After Icing my arm, taking pain killers and apologizing to everyone we headed off, by this time the trails had opened up i was in heaven when just after cresting the hill my chain snapped this just cant be happening , i just put on 2 new sprockets and a chain for the ride after snapping a chain on Australia day. after finding that i had snapped the chain nowhere near the joining link darren headed off again to get the spare chain.  Im thinking Im never going to live this down.

When we got back to the truck again Bill lent me his rear wheel to keep me going ( with Dont Scratch my rim @#$%) in my ear i carefully rode off with the for the afternoon.

We continued to ride some of the best trails you could ask for finally i made it to camp without Fnnn up something,

Sunday Dawned to the sound of  Bacon and Eggs on the BBQ , quick check of the bikes refuel and discussions on what the rain was going to do, with a lot of overnight rain the Tracks were pristine and still No dust with the rain menacing us it was decided to express it back if it was 2 much, .Pulling up  at a check point the boys said did you crash again “NO why” i turned around to find a huge chunk missing from my seat WTF,  to add insult to injury 1 gut noticed a crack in my Pipe - I have never had a problem with the KTM 300 till this weekend i suppose it just has to catch up with you some time.

The heavens opened up, Now since i smashed my peak on my helmet the rain stung and the goggles fogged in the tight stuff it wasnt to bad but when the road opened up U had to ride fast to stop them fogging, Even though we were expressing it back on dirt road it was still a hoot its was like you were on rails.

We got back to Yandina saturated but relived Bill and Darren and Steve Fired up the BBQ for a very hungry bunch of guys it capped the weekend off perfectly. .
